Job Description
My Client a Global Leading Manufacturing Business in North West London is looking for an Accountant to join their head office team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager the Accountant will be responsible for:
- Scheduling of monthly closing activities
- Calculation of Accruals and Prepayments
- Journal entries to record monthly transactions
- Account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts (including foreign currency denominated accounts)
- Prepare Income Statement for review before final close
- Preparation of monthly reporting package, including supplemental schedules for detail fixed assets, intangibles, and accounts receivable fluctuations
- Provide analysis and commentary for the management accounts
- Reporting performance against budget, forecast and prior year
- Assist the Cost Accountant with GRNI reconciliation
- Prepare the monthly reporting pack
- Expense management on Concur
- Manage multi-currency cash flow
- Ensure currency is available for payments due
- Process capital additions and disposals in a timely manner
- Reconciliation of fixed asset system reports to general ledger and calculate depreciation
- Tracking of construction-in-progress and capitalization of assets into appropriate fixed asset accounts in a timely manner
- Oversee VAT returns and ensure timely tax installments are made
- Posting daily transactions to the accounting system
- Assist with the year-end process, working with Group and the external audit and tax
- Maintenance of Finance department policies and procedures;
- Maintenance of documentation of system of internal controls; and
- Assistance in testing of internal controls as needed
- All documentation signed and approved in line with the policies and audit controls
- Ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner and in line with the company policy
- Advisor Accounts Receivable and ensure debt is recovered in a timely manner
- Check and approve payment runs set up by the Accounts Assistant
- Ensure team's work is done effectively, accurately and on time
- Assist Cost Accountant with calculation and reviewing of inventory provisions, E&O provisions etc.
Successful candidates will part qualified in ACCA or CIMA who have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role ideally from an International or manufacturing business.
