Job Description

We are working with a Private Equity backed London based brokerage business in recruiting a Financial Accountant

Our client is a global commodities broker, with significant market share of many major Agricultural, Metal and Energy products.

The role sits in the Financial Control team which consists of 4 individuals who work on a range of projects, regulatory and statutory reporting and control functions. The team is charged with ensuring the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global and regulated company.

The Financial Accountant will take ownership of the management reporting, financial reporting and controlling of a number of entities, and in doing so gain a detailed understanding of the entity, its business, products, strategies and any technical accounting and disclosure requirements.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for

Preparation, analysis and presentation of interim and annual financial statements to senior management reporting under various Accounting Standards

You will be a key part of the Finance Team; liaising with various functional areas such as Tax, Company Secretarial, Treasury and Regulatory Groups

You will be supporting legal entity initiatives within the firm and involvement in projects impacting the legal entities

Involvement in developing and enhancing existing processes

You will also get the opportunities to work on varied ad hoc projects

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant who is a qualified accountant (Big 4 audit background is preferred but not essential). They are looking for people who have strong analogical, organisational and documentation skills as well as the ability to present financial information, verbally and written, to senior management and able to build good relations with stakeholders
