Job Description
What you'll be doing:
- Manage the Design Team workload for all current projects
- Provide design/CAD support to projects as required, including Bill of Materials (BoM) control and management of subcontract design and analysis activity
- Liaise with procurement team to ensure design release to purchase order process is both effective and efficient
- Support the ongoing development of processes and systems for design, to improve quality, capability and efficiency with which engineering projects are delivered and supporting such initiatives from other areas of the business
- Coordinate with the Project Manager in line with engineering strategies and manage all work requests
- Run Design Reviews to facilitate design development and approval at key product development stages
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skills helpful for the role:
- Mechanical design experience - packaging, modelling and detailing, within the automotive/ marine industries
- Knowledge and use of complex 3D modelling skills
- Knowledge of detailing standards and GD and T
- CATIA and SolidWorks experience preferable
- Knowledge of project management tools
