Job Description
- General clerical and administrative duties
- Complete all duties for ward clerk, including pre-admission. Managing and dealing with all telephone enquiries, new patients and visitors.
- Point of contact for all visitors to the unit.
- To maintain patient details on EPIC and relevant electronic systems.
- To manage and update the admission and discharge information system promptly .
- To process patient documentation and liaise with ward staff to resolve any problems.
- Liaise with other departments for example; Consultants secretaries, pharmacy, medical records (daily basis).
- To provide support to the nursing and medical staff as required.
- Make appointments as necessary and to rebook patients if needed.
- Ensuring adequate levels of ward stock.
- To maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete pre admissions in advance for scheduled patients.
- Any other duties as requested.
