Job Description
  • General clerical and administrative duties
  • Complete all duties for ward clerk, including pre-admission. Managing and dealing with all telephone enquiries, new patients and visitors.
  • Point of contact for all visitors to the unit.
  • To maintain patient details on EPIC and relevant electronic systems.
  • To manage and update the admission and discharge information system promptly .
  • To process patient documentation and liaise with ward staff to resolve any problems.
  • Liaise with other departments for example; Consultants secretaries, pharmacy, medical records (daily basis).
  • To provide support to the nursing and medical staff as required.
  • Make appointments as necessary and to rebook patients if needed.
  • Ensuring adequate levels of ward stock.
  • To maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete pre admissions in advance for scheduled patients.
  • Any other duties as requested.
