Job Description

You will provide support to the Procurement team for delivery of service to the business, ensuring compliance to both procedures and processes. You’ll be part of a team of 50, providing advice, guidance and support to users and monitoring the departments’ compliance to procedures/processes inclusive of BEIS requirements and cabinet office.
You’ll need to have strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workloads, as well as have an awareness of Public Sector Procurement principles and have a good office/administration experience.
What will you be responsible for?

  • Purchasing goods and services in line with Procurement procedures.
  • Support on the set up of users and monitoring within our Procurement Portal and Contract management systems.
  • Provide administrative support to members of the department.
  • Supporting the Procurement Managers in maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Maintaining data & databases in support of the Procurement function.
  • Interacting with internal and external customers advising them on procurement procedures.
  • Using Procurement module of the U4BW (Agresso) system.
  • Collate and prepare internal and external procurement reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (two of which must be Math & English Language). 
  • Familiarity with Public Sector Procurement principles.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral and with people at all levels. 
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills including the ability to priorities the workload is essential. 
  • Good office/administration experience, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate numeric data accurately to produce reports. 
  • Cooperates well with colleagues and supports team members.
  • Adapt to and work within a variety of situations 
  • Ability to use commercial information in buying to support decision making
  • Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
