Full-time, Permanent - Temporarily remote
Job Description

To ensure the delivery of timely, accurate and professional support to external and internal stakeholders in the areas of claims payment, collection of premiums and financial management reporting.

Primary Responsibilities of Role

1. To oversee the work of the Credit Controllers in the following areas, ensuring the efficient use of resources:

  • Collect premiums in accordance with the company’s credit control procedures.
  • Maintaining records up to date in accordance with current finance procedures manual.
  • Adherence to daily timetable for the completion of key tasks.
  • Responding promptly to correspondence and other enquiries received in the Finance Department.

2. To supervise and provide technical support to the Credit Controllers, contributing to the recruitment and selection process as well as providing feedback to the Finance Manager for performance review and management and for identifying and meeting training needs.

3. To ensure that any unmatched cash is reconciled and cleared in a timely manner.

4. To prepare and produce reports on a timely basis in accordance with agreed timescales.

5. To contribute to the development, design and implementation of new systems/system changes and resulting training needs.

6. To deputise for the Finance Manager in their absence.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· A proven track record of direct hands on credit control experience within a team. · MS Office with a focus on Excel at advanced level– able to design and produce complex spreadsheets. · Management reporting. · Working knowledge of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT). · Effective communicator, both face to face and over the phone. · Evidence of being able to work under pressure to meet weekly and monthly targets. · Comfort with, and the ability to quickly learn and navigate complex internal IT systems. · Ability to supervise, motivate and control the work of a small team. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Credit Control role.
