Job Description

The role is essential to support the continued growth of the business through a mixture of business partnering and strategic execution on top of continued fundraising. You’ll be immersed in the world of our finance team, supporting the Chief Financial Officer in providing comprehensive reporting, analysis and insight to support day-to-day operations for all the business, as well as having full ownership of all regulatory reporting – Statutory Accounts, VAT, Tax etc. The role will definitely have a big focus on management accounts, but we’ll also need your support to cover ad hoc strategic projects, too.

  • Attending functional & cross-functional meetings
  • Provide analysis and deliver insight that links financial reports to business strategies
  • Point of contact for financial support
  • Deliver analysis on business opportunities, with options and scenarios
  • Participate in decision making, giving support/challenge where appropriate
  • Present performance against KPI’s & targets
  • Take full ownership of identifying the cost to serve our client base, comparing against expectations.
  • Provide regular and accurate profitability analysis by client & product which is then presented to Senior Management/Exec team.
  • Develop Financial reporting across the business, ensuring effective, timely and accurate.
  • Manage the annual Budget/3 Year Plan and periodic reforecasting process, ensuring the required information is received in a timely manner from the relevant business stakeholders giving the necessary financial support/challenge.
  • Ownership of the financial model with the need for agile scenario planning to support business planning and decision making.
  • Full ownership of monthly management accounts and Board pack, including the review and approval of accounts receivable/payable, payroll, capitalization, PSA etc.
  • Review and monitor the Business cash flow on a regularly basis, ensuring effective management of working capital.
  • Submission and review of Investor reporting.
  • Submission of all statutory reporting and point of contact for year-end Audit / Tax compliance.
  • Take lead in supplier negotiations and managing supplier relationships.
  • Management of the finance reporting team, ensuring each team member is developing and is stretched to meet full potential.
  • Responsible for improving, establishing and enforcing controls, processes and systems across the business.
  • Deliver ad-hoc information at short notice, anticipating information requirements and delivering the information to a high standard.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong technical accounting background, with prior experience of managing a team
  • Experience within a similar position – at least 3 years PQE.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, confident in communicating and challenging at all levels
  • A team player, able to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment, providing accurate support to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, so you never miss a deadline
  • Show potential and desire to build up a Finance team as the company scales up
  • Awesome know-how in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, so you can present information in forms, tables, and spreadsheet.
  • Exposure to a fast-paced, private equity backed software business
  • Good analytical skills, able both to command the detail and to identify overall trends and commercial issues
  • Experience of fund raising activities including equity and debt.
  • Experienced and highly skilled with group accounting and consolidation. Experience with overseas entities is a bonus.
