Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a fast-paced corporate accounting team within a complex hedge fund environment. We require a grounded, articulate, and experienced qualified Financial Controller with energy and enthusiasm who is willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute to the success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for reviewing delivering full month end management accounts, which are prepared by the Finance Analysts
  • A hands-on approach to journals, prepayments/accrual entries, inter-company transactions
  • Comfortable with a large number of cost centers across the group
  • Cash-flow monitoring, FX trades to fund foreign offices
  • Able to produce reporting packs for senior management and strategic partners
  • Receipt of performance fees and management fees into the group
  • Managing external relationships: audit, tax, other outsource providers
  • Understands how to allocate profits across a partnership structure
  • Good understanding of transfer pricing across a global group
  • Comfortable analyzing complex data sets, strong systems user, experience of using Great Plains an advantage but not essential.
  • Coaching the Finance Analysts and driving forward their professional development.
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class controls and processes for the global corporate accounting function

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5-10 years’ experience, ideally trained in-house at an accounting firm. ·
  • Experience gained within asset management in-house role as an accountant within Group/Corporate accounting team (not Funds)
  • Experience of complex consolidations
  • Ability to coach, lead and motivate team members
  • US GAAP knowledge is desirable
  • Diligent, organized, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and to interface well with other departments, including very senior stakeholders.
  • A team player with a professional approach and a keen desire to learn.
  • Degree educated, Qualified accountant, minimum 5 years PQE
  • ACA/ACCA or international equivalent.
