What will I be doing? (key responsibilites include but not limited to)
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
Produces yearly budgets and weekly & monthly forecasts by establishing schedules; collecting, analysing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans based on status of financial condition
Deal with all accounting and control matters, in accordance with company policy, statutory requirements and best commercial practice
Protects assets, monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits, providing direct support to external auditors
Assist hotel leadership team in running weekly payroll forecast; support payroll preparation and data delivery to the payroll company
Prepare & review bank reconciliation daily to maintain a cash flow, month end journals, monthly owners packs.
Leads and controls Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable (Food, Beverage, Sundry, Travel Agent Commission & Capex), Income audit, Cashiering and Payroll
Coordinate and initiate end of day audit procedures
Supervises monthly credit meeting & follows up on points of action
Establish, review and maintain internal control systems across hotel operations, in accordance with company procedures
Meets all accounting deadlines and ensure that figures reported are complete and accurate.
Controls debtors by ensuring correct operation of the company credit policy and debt collection policy is followed.
Controls and monitors expenditure and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Controls petty cash expenditure and maintains the cash float.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts and inventories; ensure ethical accounting practices in compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements. Distribute outlook and forecast information as an up-to-date management tool for departments to identify cost savings. Review operating equipment stores to avoid unnecessary/excessive purchases and to eliminate and or be aware of slow-moving items Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance. Educate and train all team members in compliance with legislation and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties. Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.
