Job Description

The position will be responsible for hiring and managing a local team, as well as possibly throughout the region to effectively deliver and manage accounting functions in the non-US territories. You will have responsibility for compliance in all applicable jurisdictions for such matters as statutory and other regulatory reporting requirements and VAT and/or other local taxes. In addition, they will ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all internal monthly financial reporting requirements including assisting in the preparation, review and quality assurance of all subsidiary packages. This position may require occasional travel.

  • Effectively build, lead and manage a team to deliver on the objectives of the function
  • Provide Controllership business partner services to the EMEA leadership team and corporate FP&A
  • Oversight of the effective, accurate and timely recording of entries to the G/L and other books of record for non-US entities
  • Oversight of the effective, accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Planning, management and collaboration with the global treasury team for local entity cash balances and FX exposure optimization and with the tax team on timely filing of all tax and other compliance forms
  • Document and manage all historical book to statutory adjustments and effectively serve as the lead interface for the auditors on the local Statutory Audits
  • Implement and maintain tools, processes and policies to effectively monitor and communicate the "health" of the non-US Controllership process
  • Effective collaboration with the global People Organization, Legal, Accounting, Finance and business units on general Controllership projects with cross functional impact
  • Demonstrate a high level of team building, leadership and management skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance - Chartered Accountant or equivalent preferably with a global firm
  • 10+ or more years relevant work experience in technical and operational accounting as well as 3+ years of leadership and management experience with proven results for building and leading highly effective teams
  • Experience in complex technical accounting areas such as lease accounting, equity, tax, etc. as well as operational accounting experience such as accounts payable
  • VAT and other global consumption tax schemes compliance experience
  • Relevant experience with SOX controls design and documentation
  • Presentations to senior and executive management a strong plus
  • Proficiency in current IFRS GAAP and accounting policies and procedures, as well as External Reporting
  • Strong analytical, research, problem solving and evaluative thinking skills
  • Strong English language reading and writing skills
  • Strong German language skills would be nice to have too
  • SaaS industry experience and NetSuite experience a plus
