Job Description

You will be responsible for managing all the financial systems and practices, ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles. The Financial Controller will focus on the company finances while leading, nurturing and developing the team.

This role is ideal for someone ready to embrace a challenge where you will have the opportunity to drive and influence business growth by taking responsibility for financial structures, systems, and processes for this leading build-to-rent property investor and developer .

Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage and maintain sophisticated financial models.
  • Board-level presentations.
  • System integration and implementation.
  • Maintaining efficient working capital of the group and advising the CEO, COO and ExCo team on efficiency.
  • Produce management accounts and cash-flow models for properties including bank finance.
  • Liaising with external auditors to submit statutory accounts.
  • Oversee and produce service charge budgets (commercial and residential).
  • Overseeing Payroll including pension scheme.
  • Producing aged debtor reports, and non-recoverable expenditure with close liaison of the in-house Operations Manager.
  • Reporting to financiers for loan covenant monitoring to include interest cover, and compliance certificates.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solid financial background in the real estate industry (residential and commercial).
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Technically capable of demonstrating accounting knowledge and ability to hit the ground running with a can-do approach.
  • Audit experience of property investment companies is considered as a strong advantage.
  • Understanding of UK GAAP and onshore-offshore nuances.
  • Ability to demonstrate financial control skills and strategies to a board of directors.
  • Articulate, able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Ability to lead, train and develop the team under GAAP.
  • Debt restructuring experience: credit to proven track record of working with different banks, obtaining real estate finance.
