Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced stock controller to join a major distributor based in Hemel Hempstead to work on their day shift - 08.30 - 17.30 Monday to Friday with some weekends occasionally required - salary is £29,000 per year
Responsible for ensuring that the company's stock levels meet business needs. Overseeing purchases and pricing reports, replenishing levels when necessary, and monitoring shipments or internal transfers between departments within one business enterprise. A passion for stock integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Health and Safety, Quality and Hygiene guidelines.
- Checking stock levels regularly
- Updating stock information on the SAP
- Comparing items received against items ordered
- Implementing or improving processes and procedures
- Compiling daily reports and addressing inventory discrepancies
- Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedure
- Preforming random checks and audits
- Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw materials to identify shortages
- Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand to customers
- Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
- Use software to monitor demand and documentation characteristics
- Place orders to replenish stock avoidance insufficiencies or excessive surplus
- Analyze current status to anticipate future needs
- Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
- Report to upper management on stock levels and stock issues
- Overseeing and planning a complete stock audit’s a minimum three times a year
- Follow, and ensure others comply to all company Safety Procedures, processes and procedures that are in place, including (but not limited to) COSHH, PPE, accident/incident reporting, first aid and manual handling.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety at Work obligations.
- Challenge non-compliance to Health and Safety, Quality and Hygiene guidelines.
- Use any equipment at work in accordance with instructions and training.
- Ensure accurate inventory movements / transactions and good working practices are applied.
- Aware of acceptable/unacceptable quality standards, challenging anything that falls short of these standards.
- Identify potential quality issues during all functions within the operation and seek resolutions.
- Ensure that personal hygiene standards are maintained during all tasks within the warehouse
