Job Description

The Group Treasury and Tax Manager will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and will take responsibility for the following aspects of the finance function across the Active Care Group.

  • Cash management including monitoring of available cash, identifying best use of group cash balances
  • Improving cash flow forecasting using modelling and scenario-based projections
  • Relationship with commercial banking facility providers
  • Ensuring ongoing banking facilities are fit for purposes, suggesting improvements where appropriate
  • Leading and developing the Credit Control team, implementing processes and procedures to maximise efficiency
  • Ownership of the group VAT process including processing group VAT returns from Sage X3 system, payments of VAT where required, identifying risks and opportunities which arise in relation to VAT and implementing changes to financial systems and processes to ensure best practice across the group
  • Management and Implementation of the VAT Welfare scheme, working closely with the Commercial Team and external funders.
  • Key contact for Corporation Tax for all group companies, responsible for ensuring corporation tax payments are made in a timely and accurate manner, liaison with external and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting M&A on items such as integration of banking facilities, preparation of deferred tax provisions and review of tax due diligence.

The right individual:Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Previous responsibility for complex VAT group reporting and practical knowledge of partial exemption
  • Previous experience in a cash management role
  • Positive enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude
  • Well organised with strength in prioritising and meeting key deadlines
  • Able to work autonomously and flexibly
  • High level of accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Strong people management skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Additional tax and/or treasury qualification Experience of using Sage X3 Strong communication skills, including ability to build relations across the Group Experience in Healthcare industry
