Job Description

• Day to day tasks will involve modifying and extending existing reports and ETL processes, as well as developing new reports and processes. Most reporting will involve working closely with the wider business, either to assist with operational targets and monitoring, or to inform the company’s strategic decision making.
• Oversee, promote and improve our use of SQL database reporting
• Oversee / deliver training both formally and informally to existing staff to improve the general knowledge and understanding of SQL report writing.
• Producing bespoke reports, routines and workflows to help streamline the various departments daily workload.
• Work closely with the database and reporting team to ensure our data is cleansed and stored efficiently

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requirements/ Technical ability/ Knowledge:

• Ideally you have 3 or more years commercial experience in a SQL focused role, preferably using SQL/SQL Server/SSMS
• System and database administration to automate routine tasks
• Microsoft SQL Server 2014+
• Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Data Warehouse based on the Kimball methodology
• Advanced Excel Data Modelling and Power Query (Advantageous)
• Power BI (Advantageous
• Writing Excel Macros (solid VBA skills)
• Confidence to manage your stakeholder expectations and introduce new ideas
• A Further qualification in software development or coding is desirable.
• Minimum 3 A*-C’s at A-level or equivalent further education.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, VBA and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
• Experience working with 3rd Party API’s.
