Full Time, Part Time
Job Description

Full time role 5 days per week, 9am-5:30pm with 1hr lunch based in the Hitchin office.
Partners are currently considering flexible working to have early finish Fridays.

  • We have a second office in Hatfield, where we would occasionally need you to visit. Typically around 1 day per month.
  • Travel costs reimbursed, but it will facilitate you better knowing the staff based there, and can ensure their clients are well managed between you both.
  • A hybrid role covering bookkeeping, accounts/tax exposure and staff management – ideal for someone with experience in bookkeeping/accounts prep and with the drive and personality to further their role towards a management position.
  • The position is available in light of a growing bookkeeping/accounts department.
  • Experience and understanding of basic limited company structures and associated accounts is essential as the vast majority of the clients to be managed will fall under this structure.

Lots of opportunity for the candidate to progress. The opening position will be as a right hand man/woman to the Outsourcing/Accounts manager, assisting with the review of the teams’ work and overseeing the overall workflow of the team.

  • Job review will be a key part of the role, and so experience with VAT preparations and submission is vital.
  • One key element of the role will be to facilitate the movement of jobs which have been bookkept, over to the accounts function.
  • The role will also include exposure and assistance of the firms billing.
  • Very little physical bookkeeping will be necessary as part of this role.
  • As a firm, we are strongly geared towards our clients being managed on Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Therefore experience on cloud based accountancy software is ideal.
  • Experience on Sage Line 50, is sufficient.

The bookkeeping team current sits at 10 strong, including a few part time staff. We also outsource some bookkeeping to another firm, where we have access to three full time staff.
