Job Description

Working a part of a small team with the assistance of an Assistant Accountant & reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the role itself will involve preparing accurate & timely management accounts for 4 venues & head office support & amongst a variety of responsibilities will include:

·Accounting & production of accurate & timely management accounts for all reporting centres with regular reviews with the Operations Director & Venue Managers, acting in an advisory capacity to the Venue Managers, working with them to get them to where they need to be, setting targets & reporting back.

·Accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including cash & bank reconciliations, credit card takings & deposits taken and redeemed, fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, sales ledger & site EPOS reporting/control with detailed reviews with the Head of Finance each period.

·Production of business reports, KPIs, business data, budgets & statutory accounts.

·Ensuring all statutory returns for VAT, PAYE, Pensions & Corporation Tax are submitted on time.

·Constantly striving to improve systems & reporting capabilities – assisting the Head of Finance to maintain & develop the Sage 200 accounting system used.

·Weekly preparation of KPIs & a review of the previous week

·Overseeing stock, wages, expenses & working as a consultant to the business

·Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets & regular trading forecasts

·Preparing year-end accounts, working closely with auditors to ensure a clean year-end audit report

SALARY: The starting salary for this role is up to £55,000, although slightly more may be paid depending on experience plus a 10% bonus, pension, excellent benefits & the chance to develop your career with an exciting operator.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
·Background of working as a Group Management Accountant, Group Finance Manager or Group Financial Controller within a similar hospitality or leisure company. Previous exposure to working for a bigger hospitality company with good controls & disciplines may be an advantage. ·Qualified member of accountancy body or holder of equivalent qualification – Part/Full Qualified ACA and/or CIMA ·A background in finance with a multi-site restaurant, bar, pub, hotel or leisure operator ·MUST have previous experience of SAGE 200 ·Experience of working with Zonal EPOS system & Fourth Hospitality is useful though not essential. ·We are looking for someone who appreciates what the company are doing & what they will be getting out of the role & still sees it as a challenge ·Very hands on and happy to work with vibrant forward-thinking management team. ·The ability to work within a hands-on role that encompasses all aspects of financial reporting & control in what is an extremely busy, vibrant environment. ·Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines ·A good communicator ·Energetic & motivational ·The patience & ability to work with General Managers to set targets to get them on track, monitor progress & report back ·Strong IT Skills – excellent technical accounting skills & advanced Excel spreadsheet skills ·The desire to work for a company that will give you the freedom to make your mark ·A consummate professional - polished, commercially astute & articulate with high standards.
