The main responsibilities of this role reducing the aged debt for all offices. This involves frequent interaction with clients, partners and fee earners.
Responsibilities include:
Be responsible for managing Credit Control for all offices.
Work alongside the Finance Director and Accounts Manager on reducing the level of unpaid invoices.
Assisting Finance Director and Accounts Manager with ad hoc reports and other work.
Chasing debts by telephone, collection of debts, including producing, checking and approving all automatic letter issued.
Be proactive booking and attending meetings with partners, agreeing appropriate strategies to collect aged and/or difficult debts,and ensure all queries are resolved appropriately.
Building relationships with partners and fee earners to ensure collection policy is adhered to and escalate any problem clients, fee earners or debts to the management team.
Dealing with clients via telephone as a priority, with email used as an additional tool for collection, maximising the number of calls made against targets for the month.
Assisting with daily banking and identifying BACS, CHAPS & Cheque payments.
Maintaining detailed and accurate notes regarding debtors on LawFusion accounts system.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good knowledge of credit control in a professional services firm. Good telephone manner. Knowledge of Solicitors accounts system and billing system will be an advantage. The confidence to deal effectively with staff and clients at all levels.
