Job Description

The transactional finance manager will be responsible for the continued development of the accounts payable and receivable functions. This includes the development of Netsuite to enable continued efficiencies to be gained from the transactional elements of the finance systems. Working with external stakeholders to solve issues, develop solutions and implement them is a key requirement for the right candidate.
Other responsibilities include the maintenance of our supplier contract database, posting and matching cash in the books of accounts, weekly bank reconciliations, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, provide accounting support on VAT and other complex areas as required by the Group Financial Controller and the running of routine reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities and Breakdown of Role:
 

  • Manage and maintain the purchase to pay cycle ensuring vendors paid in line with terms and cash requirements on the business. Daily upload of invoices, trigger approval workflows and appropriate coding of invoices in readiness to pay and recognise in the appropriate account period.
  • Collate and create the monthly payment run as well as ad hoc amounts as and when required by the business, ensuring bank details are controlled.
  • Maintain vendor records in Netsuite and ensure data integrity and appropriate system utilisation is continually reviewed and improved upon.
  • Manage the group Accounts Payable inbox ensuring incoming mail is actioned and filed in a timely manner.
  • Post bank transactions daily, perform bank reconciliations weekly and reconcile Balance Sheet at the month end
  • Process Monthly expenses, ensuring process communicated and managed across the business to ensure timely processing and payment.
  • Management of the company credit card process, downloading and sending statements for allocation and approval. Monthly reconciliations to ensure all costs accounted for in a timely manner.
  • System utilisation and integration maintenance and review in support of the Group financial Controller
  • Support Credit Control as well as posting and matching cash upon receipt.
  • Provide holiday cover for other transactional roles within the finance team most notably US Controller and Credit Controller
  • Reconcile and run the VAT reporting and filing along with other routine transactional activities agreed with the Group Financial Controller.

Responsible for routine reporting and ad hoc reporting as required by management

Requirements:
Desired Qualifications:
The Transactional Finance Manager should have at least 3+ years of progressively relevant experience for a company or division of a small to medium international corporation. The candidate must demonstrate examples from previous roles of driving change within the finance team and within the finance systems. Additionally, experience of using Netsuite is essential. Study support will be provided to the preferred candidate upon successfully passing their probation.

  • Able to work on a range of integrated and interfaced accounting systems including NetSuite
  • Competent on Excel
  • Excellent communicator
  • Hard working, self-starter, take initiative
  • Able to help formulate credit and collection policy and certainly be able to enforce them
  • Diligent with strong attention to detail, but also able to see and understand the big picture
  • Able to spot issues and escalate to other team members
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
