Job Description

To optimally deliver in this role, you'll build positive relationships within the teams that you support, and ensure your team’s products are delivered effectively and efficiently anticipating customers’ needs. There is an expectation that the role will be flexible and work across the wider team, supporting other teams where demand requires. The candidate is required to be a qualified accountant.
Responsibilities

  • Undertake cost planning and analysis activities including but not limited to:
  • Review of divisional & consolidated reporting , challenging where necessary and providing commentary and CoE analysis & insight
  • Liaising with Business Partners for information relating to movements and month end exceptions; produce flash and trigger required adjustments to be actioned by the Controls team
  • Supporting Business Partners at or for key meetings
  • Support new analysis, scenario modelling and insight on the business to support strategic and operational outcomes
  • Manage consolidated forecasting and budgeting, across BAU cost base. Including the production of Quarterly packs and management of consolidated risks and opportunities.
  • Gatekeeper for benefits including the modelling, tracking and forecasting against targets.
  • Communicating with Business Partner and Control teams on non-standard assumptions, review accounting outputs during month end and challenge
  • Reviewing, investigating and challenging material exceptions & provide supporting information
  • Creating of scenario modelling and analysis and provide high level commentary to Costs Management
  • Analysing and communicate unexplained variances and non-standard business inspired changes related to 4 Year Operating Plan / Quarterly and Monthly Rolling Forecasts
  • Facilitating structure changes meetings and provide guidance on Restatement process

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant with relevant post qualified experience and a strong technical background.
  • Experience in end to end management of costs ranging from accounts payable, through to Management Accounts production
  • Experience in managing Technology related costs
  • A proactive and inquisitive mind able to quickly get up to speed in understanding a new cost base / P&L, getting to grips with the basis of accruals, and variances to budget / year on year.
  • Able to construct a forecast and identify underlying trends / areas of potential investigation / opportunity independently.
  • Experience in delivering operational improvement and standardization
  • Strong partner management experience including financial and non-financial partners
