Job Description

You will ensure integrity and accuracy of data. You will also be the internal point of contact for supplier and customer related queries, liasing with staff across the company and the Supply team. As an important member of the Finance Team you will also help improve financial processes and procedures ensuring both best fit for finance but also the wider business.
This role is ideally suited to someone with experience of either creating effective accounting procedures or significant experience of executing accurate and detailed bookkeeping. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Ownership of the transaction entry process including processing invoices on SAP business by design software and maintaining clear supplier records.
  • Creating a supplier payment process and regular schedule, ensuring the supplier payment runs are prepared in accordance with schedule.
  • Ensuring that supplier information details are kept up to date.
  • Posting and reconciling journals.
  • Checking the data input to ensure the accuracy of the invoices and reconcile with purchase orders.
  • Running and monitoring open purchase order reports on a weekly basis
  • Reporting all invoices/purchase order issues or irregularities to the Assistant Financial Controller or Financial Controller.
  • Entering and application of credit notes from suppliers
  • Ensuring all purchasing transactions are carried out in accordance with AD procedures and external financial regulations
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with key suppliers and Animal Dynamics staff, and being proactive in resolving issues
  • Responding to enquiries, regularly providing advice on purchasing procedures and policies
  • Managing the shared finance and purchasing email inboxes
  • Undertaking ad-hoc reporting as required
  • Contributing to the development or improvement of financial and purchasing procedures
  • Providing support to the wider Finance and Supply teams as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent experience of book-keeping, including a good understanding of VAT, general ledger and double entry
  • Experience of using ERP such as SAP or Oracle (SAP is preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to consistently meet deadlines and to manage competing priorities
  • The ability to work independently, without close supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • SAP Business by Design experience
  • Financial/accounting/book-keeping qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT,
