Lead execution of local (UK) day-to-day accounting processes for accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense reimbursement, payroll and other core accounting processes
Enter transactions into the company’s accounting system
Support the company’s month-end close process by posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, cash/bank reconciliations, and producing draft financial statements and related reporting in accordance with GAAP
Assist with the preparation and filing of local tax returns
Collaborate with the company’s Finance team to perform monthly variance analysis and support the company’s annual budget process
Assist with annual financial statement audit process, including statutory audits of foreign subsidiaries
Support the financial/accounting integration of acquired companies
Develop expertise in company’s accounting system (NetSuite) and other key systems
Identify and drive potential process improvements and efficiencies
Assist with other critical finance and accounting projects as needed
As a team player in a small office, the Staff Accountant will also be expected to help from time-to-time on office-related tasks.
Such tasks may include: updating CRM entries, assisting with office environment and facilities, planning office activities, and liaising with local service providers and the building manager
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1-3 years of experience in accounting roles; exceptional candidates with less work experience will be considered
Working knowledge of GAAP
General ledger and month-end close experience
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce preferred
