Job Description

Strategic Financial Analysis

  • Ensure the accurate & timely production of appraisals and sensitivities
  • Assist the New Business Team in the analysis of information for the preparation of land bids.

Cost Analysis

  • Review cost to complete projections to ensure correct allocation of future spend for the purposes of budgetary control.
  • Assist the Technical Director with the production and monitoring of Infrastructure and Technical costs.
  • Assist the Planning Director with the production and monitoring of Pre-Start costs.

Financial Forecasting

  • Assist in the production of monthly appraisal and budget updates with special note being made regarding variances in cost/profitability.
  • Lead the Monthly Director Appraisal Review meeting
  • Liaise and consult with other parts of the Division / Group in relation to the incorporation of strategic land within the housebuilding Divisions.
  • Update and review appraisals for the annual Budget and Five Year Plan cycles

Reporting

  • Assist in, and contribute to, the production of financial reports, including reports for Board approval.
  • Prepare and update financial analysis Dashboards and supporting documentation to support the Financial Accounting submissions at LLP and JV Board meetings.

Management

  • Attend monthly Board and Management meetings.
  • Lead and Develop the newly formed Financial Analysis team

Assist with general financial matters arising through ongoing projects within the Region, Division and/or Group.

Manage and develop internal financial appraisal systems.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Education to Degree level.
  • Ideally, first-hand experience of speculative residential development.
  • Awareness of the importance of the strategic land programme to corporate financial planning.
  • Organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills generally together with the ability to think through the knock-on effects of decisions proposed/made.
  • Microsoft Excel to "advanced plus level".
  • Experience gained over 5 years.
  • Analytical Mind.
