Job Description

The Senior Function Tester expert knowledge and understanding of formal procedures, guidelines and adherence to standards. They are a positive enthusiastic thinker, with excellent communication skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, and will monitor overall testing progress against estimated effort and timescales. They will lead on testing activities across the lifecycle and may lead a team of testing resources.

* Development and execution of automated test scripts
* Expert in test tools and in use of Atlassian Confluence & Jira.
* Contributes to and may lead on the development of test policy, standards and processes at Project/Programme/Engagement level.
* Developing and carrying out automated regression testing using appropriate tooling
* Writing of reusable test scripts
* Perform stress and load test for applications under test, where applicable
* Reporting of test results and metrics, and identification of defects and problems.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Determines testing policy, and owns the supporting processes including software security testing. Takes responsibility for the management of all testing activities within a development or integration project or programme. Manages all risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action when any risks become unacceptable. Assesses and advises on the practicality of testing process alternatives, including automated testing. Initiates improvements to test processes and directs their implementation. Assesses suppliers\' development and testing capabilities. Determines project testing standards for all phases, influencing all parties to conform to those standards. Manages client relationships with respect to all testing matters.

The scope of the Senior Function Tester role includes but is not limited to the following:
* Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes engagement objectives and delegates responsibilities. Is accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.
* Influences policy formation on the contribution of own specialism to business objectives. Influences a significant part of own organisation and influences customers/suppliers and industry at senior management level. Makes decisions which impact the work of employing organisations, achievement of engagement objectives and financial performance. Develops high-level relationships with customers, suppliers and industry leaders.
* Performs highly complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects. Contributes to the formulation of IT strategy. Creatively applies a wide range of technical skills
