The key responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant include, but are not limited to:
General filing of sales/purchase invoices, including return orders and credits from suppliers and customers
Storing records of all customer and supplier forms correctly and any new account forms to be filled in accurately
Ordering and maintaining of staff uniforms
Prepare reminder templates for chasing overdue payments
Replying to internal/external emails promptly and attaching customer invoices/statements if requested for
Data entry when processing reports and creating spreadsheets when requested to
Support your team by helping with work load when required
Making phone calls to customers to help with account queries
Adhering to KPIs set out by your line manager (after initial probation period)
Help complete project tasks when making improvements where needed
Any other duties, which may be required of you from the Financial Controller or any other, designated person within the business
The key skills and qualities of an Accounts Assistant are:
A-Level educated or equivalent, with previous experience working in an office or food environment and is comfortable working in a fast pace environment
Knowledge of general accountancy procedures and relevant accounting systems, and proficient in data entry, maintaining a high standard of numeracy and level of accuracy
Excellent organisational and analytical skills, having good time management and able to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and spoken communication skills, and proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
A strong team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn
