Job Description
A few key responsibilities:
- Oversee your team's preparation of timely and accurate monthly Management Accounts for their contracts, providing assistance as and when required, particularly in time of absence or peak activity.
- Retain responsibility for your own portfolio of contracts.
- Liaise with the senior divisional management teams to ensure they have a good appreciation of their financial results, providing input where required to maximise understanding.
- Using data generated to drive margin improvement with better working practices.
- Assist the contract management team with pricing periodic contract renegotiations.
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets for the sector and gathering information for the CFO to reforecast periodically.
- Be the go-to commercial finance contact for the Divisional MD’s and Division Operations Directors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A few key requirements:
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Project accounting experience
- Experience of leading and supporting a high performing finance team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally
- Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel
