Senior Accountant

Job Description
- Preparation and review of accounts for submission.
- Processing of personal tax returns for review, including information gathering.
- Management of business tax matters for self-employed accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and organisation, including HMRC.
- Lead department deliverables, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within schedule and budget.
- Provide valued input to weekly WIP meetings.
- Advise on work throughout the year, providing a commercial mindset to planning.
- Support colleagues with ad hoc duties as required.
- Review the work of other team members, providing constructive and supportive feedback.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ACCA or ACMA qualified, or in the final stages of study.
- Five to ten years of accountancy practice experience.
- Demonstrable experience working across accounts and tax matters.
- Good knowledge across accountancy systems, primarily CCH, VT Transaction, and Xero.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word.
- Strong communication and advisory skills.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a team’s workflow.
- A team player able to bring out the best in others.
- Confidently mentor junior team members, in a positive and constructive manner
