Job Description

This is an entry level investment management role. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve the appropriate qualifications to progress through the Investment Management career path. To support the provision of high quality, professional investment management services to private clients and other advisors.

  • Assist in the preparation and dispatch of reports, presentations and valuations.
  • Develop knowledge of, and comply with, all regulatory and organizational requirements / procedures.
  • Liaise with clients and other advisors as required including transaction reporting correspondence.
  • Prepare responses to incoming correspondence and emails as requested.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date ‘Know Your Client' information.
  • Keep abreast of operational and administrative procedures.
  • Produce information for client meetings
  • Attend and support client meetings as necessary, including taking minutes.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of client administration, start to finish.
  • Implement investment strategies as directed by the Investment Manager.
  • Build orders and place deals as directed the Investment Manager.
  • Contribute to the investment message and investment process of the team.
  • Assist in the management of investment portfolios of the team and monitor performance.
  • Prepare written investment proposals as required.
  • Analyze companies and maintain up-to-date research notes as appropriate.
  • Monitor the IM's suitability failures providing regular updates.
  • Read financial press regularly and keep abreast of global investment themes.
  • Ensure skills and knowledge base is abreast of current developments.
  • Complete appropriate professional examinations (as detailed below).
  • Attend on-going professional training courses and events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A strong interest in investment markets.
  • Competent at working to deadlines and managing time.
  • Flexible attitude to work in response to changing workloads and deadlines within the team.
  • Exceptional focus and attention to detail
  • Good numerical skills
  • Highly IT literate with an ability to learn new systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with client relationship managers and clients.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Proactive individual who is naturally efficient, organized, can manage time well and competent at working to deadlines.
  • Reliable and enthusiastic individual with a strong sense of integrity.
  • A team player who is prepared to put in additional hours, if necessary, to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Pulse is desirable but not essential.
