Job Description

This is a flexible position and therefore we would welcome applications from junior administrators who are looking to progress their career in HR or more experienced part-time practitioners (3 days/week equivalent) who can hit the ground running. This post is permanent and will be reporting directly to the HR Director and is an excellent opportunity to develop your HR skill and knowledge in a fast past, growing and varied organization.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Providing support to stakeholders under supervision of HRDirector;
  • Assist with the implementation of change across the organization;
  • Assist with company improvement project work;
  • Recruitment: assisting with advertising positions; managing the process with recruitment managers, some participant in interviewing; providing candidate feedback; preparing offer letters and contracts of employment as and when needed;
  • Participating in the delivery of all staff inductions and liaising with Managers and following up with local Team Leaders to ensure all new staff and those changing departments or offices have on the job training in line with company procedures; requesting new starter checks such as references and DBS checks
  • Assist in the staff appraisal administrative process; chasing managers, scheduling and recording outcomes.
  • Training and development: ensuring training and development needs as identified through the appraisal process are noted and followed up. Booking courses/seminars and keeping track of continuous professional development points where applicable, assisting in creating internal training programmes,
  • As and when needed; supporting disciplinary, grievances and performance management processes under the guidance of the HR Manager. Ensuring the Firm’s policy and procedures are followed throughout; assisting with taking notes, writing letters and arranging meetings.
  • Administration of company benefit schemes such as buying and selling holiday, private medical
  • Maintain holiday and sickness records where appropriate and report any potential trends; report Payroll changes where necessary
  • Other adhoc administrative duties as directly by HR Director
  • Any other duties as requested by any member of the management team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience working within an HR role;
  • Working towards or willing to work towards obtaining a qualification with the CIPD (Charted Institute of Personal and Development) to level 3 or above;
  • Basic knowledge of UK employment law and how an HR function operates;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong administration and organizational skills;
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office packages;
  • A high level of confidentiality;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • The flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the organization;
  • To enjoy working with people;
  • Tact and diplomacy;
  • The ability to work as part of a team and also independently;
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
