Job Description

Our client is a well-established and growing, international business with offices on the outskirts of Oxford. They have a newly created 6 month contract requirement in the Accounts team for a Credit Controller.

You will be responsible for:

  • Pre-debt monitoring and chasing. Ensuring that invoices raised are accurate and that there is no reason for non-payment on the due date.
  • Working closely with sites to ensure that credit policies are followed.
  • Support sponsors debt process by owning a portfolio of sponsors and working to secure payment across the portfolio.
  • Overdue debt chasing by phone and email. This includes the writing, sending and monitoring of debt chasing letters in line with the company Credit process and policy.
  • Preparation of statements, client status reports and all relevant information as required.
  • General communication with customers via telephone, email and letter for the purpose of resolving issues and closing debt related queries.
  • Negotiating re-payment plans, where appropriate.
  • Developing payment history analysis and reporting to provide clarity on the current and forecast position of the debt ledger as well as proactively sharing ideas on future improvement recommendations.
  • Working closely with both internal and external customers to ensure cash flow is optimized, whilst maintaining our high level of Customer Service.
  • Monitoring reports and apply interest payments for late payment and/or late payment fees.
  • Liaising with third party debt collection agencies where necessary and ensure we provide accurate and timely information whilst adhering to our compliance policies.

On offer is a salary of 22-26k (depending on experience), good benefits and flexibility on hybrid working.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates that apply should have previous Credit Control or Collections experience. You must be a strong communicator, both verbally and written, good at building relationships internally and externally, possess good attention to detail, with the ability to solve problems. Good systems skills are useful.
