Job Description

You will lead on administering the financial activities of the department, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects of departmental finance including processing financial transactions, procurement and grant applications. The post will lead in achieving a high quality and timely service to staff, students and others internal and external to the department. The role will include management for all matters relating to the finance system. They will provide financial information and reports for the Line Manager, Head of Department and other Senior Managers to monitor expenditure.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing effective financial support in a complex organization, knowledge of financial processes and regulations associated with general financial administration, and excellent knowledge of Excel, including the ability to understand and use numerical formulae. Proven experience of preparing financial budgets and forecasts, and experience of online financial systems, is also essential. Experience of working within a HE or similar research environment would be an advantage.
