Job Description
  • Provide senior financial support to the continuing healthcare senior management team and represent and provide financial advice on behalf of the Surrey collaborative at the Programme Board and to finance leads on a monthly basis with detailed financial reports.
  • Provide expert budgetary and accounting advice that ensures budgets are managed within the collaborative arrangements and which inform the decision making process.
  • Lead on the timely and accurate completion of financial monitoring returns in line with national requirements. This will include providing commentary and reconciliation to the ledger. In addition to compilation of data for Freedom of Information requests.
  • Compile information and complete forecast year-end positions and assumptions, ensuring the monthly reporting to the collaborative of the financial position, based on the collaborative risk share arrangements. To include expenditure trends and scenario analysis.
  • Manage the month end close and ensure reporting to collaborative members is consistent with and reconciles to the source patient and cost data maintained by the team on broad care system; ensuring the financial ledger accurately reflects the financial position.
  • Support the team with the development of business cases and provide financial support to ensure all aspects of new schemes and plans are considered and evaluated including benchmarking data where relevant.
  • Present ideas for change and improvement to the local Financial Recovery Group or other senior meetings where required.
  • Account for and appropriately allocate the management and administrative costs of the service; maintain detailed budget working papers including establishment control and provision of a monthly budget statement, summary reports and analysis of variances.
  • Ensure production of information for the annual statutory accounts process; preparation of comprehensive working papers as per Audit requirement.
