Job Description

Lead and oversee the finance department to ensure the appropriate financial vision, processes and controls are in place to ensure the long-term financial viability of the organisation

To prepare and analyse timely financial management information in order to support day to day operations and contribute to strategic planning

Produce the business plan for different financial scenarios in the context of the overall strategy.

Work closely with members of the Leadership Team to develop and create new opportunities for income generating and commercial opportunities.

Ensure budgets are agreed with Departments and approved by the respective Boards before the beginning of the financial year, and lead on reforecasting as required.

Ensure Financial Management Accounts are produced in an efficient and timely manner after each month end to inform planning and expenditure mapping.

Lead and oversee the annual audit in close liaison with external auditors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will be a fully qualified accountant or qualified by experience

Commercial mindset with credibility and track record of influencing at board level
Proven leadership skills both within and outside of finance, with the ability to be hands on where necessary

Any experience within a charity or similar will be beneficial but not essential

Experience with managing any external commercial ventures

Strong written, verbal and organisational skills
