Job Description

You will become an expert in all the key drivers of business performance and be able to proactively produce insightful analysis to ensure the right commercial outcomes for the business. You will also be responsible for the development of the business reporting tools & become the go to person in Finance for this area.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Annual Budgeting process, coordinating the timetable & process, inputs from across Finance, Directorate reviews & producing value added outputs for Board review
  • Support the quarterly Forecasting process, coordinating the timetable, inputs, stakeholder reviews & producing value added outputs for Board review
  • Support the production of the daily and weekly trading reports and validate the integrity and accuracy of data being reported to the broader business.
  • Broader responsibility for all reporting & analysis of companywide performance on a weekly, monthly & ad-hoc basis focusing on the key events & drivers within the organization
  • Ownership of the Finance reporting tools, including team training & development of these tools, ensuring these continue to be fit for purpose and optimizing system capabilities
  • Manage head office and Distribution cost base, providing the appropriate levels of controls & stakeholder support throughout the year
    • Key Business Partner to our 3PL providers as we manage the transition to a new automated distribution Centre.
    • Support the Distribution Centre in building and challenging robust KPIs
    • Create and validate new cost metrics and investment proposals required to manage the transition to 3PL
  • Business Partner with:
    • the internal and external stakeholders of the distribution Centre. Understand key activities and variances and ensure that distribution activity is aligned with business expectations
    • the Trading (Merchandising) director to deliver accurate sales, stock and markdown forecasting and reporting
    • the IT director to maintain tight cost control around key suppliers and capital investments
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of 3 direct reports & support with their on-going development

Experience of working in a similar busy and complex retail environment is preferable.
