Job Description
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that monthly income and expenditure, budgets and forecasts and returns are timely, accurate and robust. We will also rely on you to make sure that advice, reports and commentaries are accurate and give a clear view of the issues, risks and actions required. Seeing that budget holders understand their budgets and financial performance and are taking action to address any issues and risks will be important too, as will ensuring regulatory returns and financial analysis/reviews are accurate, timely and robust and clearly communicate the correct message. And, when it comes to seeing that systems and processes are being used efficiently, staff resources deployed effectively or supporting the training development of the Assistant Finance Manager, again, we will count on you.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
As well as relevant experience, you will need a proven ability to lead, motivate, manage and develop a staff member and handle multiple deadlines and pressure effectively. You’ll also need to be able to communicate complex messages in a clear and concise way to a variety of audiences and build and maintain networks with department heads and directors outside of finance. Comfortable negotiating with, and influencing your peers, you’re also great at seeing things from the customer’s perspective and delivering solutions accordingly. What’s more, you’re used to analyzing complex problems with limited readily available data and have excellent attention to detail and a flair for delivering commercially sound advice on a strategic and practical level.
