Job Description

You will have strong knowledge and experience leading and advising on Financial Crime compliance matters in an asset management environment, a strong track record delivering project outcomes and will be someone who is curious, energetic, self-starting and keen to work in a dynamic environment and drive change.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a robust Financial Crime Compliance framework across EMEA and APAC, including ensuring the implementation of consistent policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify and assess new regulatory developments and provide timely summary reports to senior management. 
  • Advise, in conjunction with Local Financial Crime Compliance team where appropriate, on new regulatory developments and ensure that they are implemented within the business in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory expectations.
  • Support 1st line business areas with their implementation of new processes, providing advice and challenge on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assist in ensuring that Financial Crime Compliance teams across EMEA and APAC provide key stakeholders with day to day regulatory advice in line with their business timeframe.
  • Ensure escalated Financial Crime matters are addressed appropriately and efficiently and any remedial actions swiftly implemented.
  • Implement and embed a culture of continuous improvement within Financial Crime Compliance teams across EMEA and APAC.
  • Assist in ensuring that relevant statutory authorities are informed of suspicious activity on a timely basis and always in accordance with prescribed time frames.
  • Assist with high profile/sensitive investigations as directed by the Global Head of Financial Crime.
  • Ensure that all staff receive regular and up to date training on financial crime risks including the firm’s approach to managing those risks and supplementary focused training for high risk employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong industry experience in the asset management sector ideally in the second line of defence, or through consultancy work.
  • Track record of managing and successfully delivering business and/or regulatory change would be an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of international anti-money laundering, countering terrorist financing and anti-bribery and corruption requirements across emea. Working knowledge of us and apac regulations would be beneficial.
  • Track record drafting policy and procedure documentation to a high standard.
  • Previous experience and expertise in implementing financial crime compliance operating models and oversight frameworks would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with economic sanctions, such as ofsi, ofac and eu sanctions regimes, including interpretation of regulations, executive orders, advisory on secondary and sectoral sanctions, contributed to the development of a global sanctions framework.
  • Experience delivering financial crime related risk assessments, including but not limited to the framework and practical application working with lines of businesses, at country level and developing consolidated reporting for delivery to senior stakeholders.
  • Curiosity to understand processes, touchpoints and up/down stream impacts of proposed change.
  • Strong team working skills and the ability to self-start and work autonomously
