Finance Officer

Job Description

You will drive the commercial focus of the business and ensure all accounting, statutory/taxation and compliance functions, policies and procedures are observed. You will lead the finance teams to deliver commercially focused financial solutions across the Economic Region.

Key Duties:

  • Sets and delivers finance priorities alongside the strategy including profitability, growth, project commercials and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides analysis on key opportunities, risks and strategies for implementing improvements through deep market, commercial and environmental understanding.
  • Oversees and manages the F&A function, including working capital, cash requirements, monitoring of costs and identification of operational efficiencies.
  • Influences and drives financial results.
  • Ensures company meets all internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Complies with each country’s indirect and income tax legislation, rulings and company guidelines.
  • Oversees the finance team in:
    • Providing considered and commercially focused financial solutions and advice across the business in a timely, collaborative and effective manner;
    • Assisting Project Directors and/or Business Group Leaders run commercially profitable projects including monitoring and improving financial performance, flagging risks, expediting debt collections and directing necessary actions;
    • Ensuring robust financial reporting and statutory requirements are delivered on time; and
    • Managing external audits.
  • Develops, mentors and empowers members of the finance team.
  • Manages workload and recruits resources as required.
  • Reports compliance/non-compliance issues to Group Finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Professional accounting qualifications equivalent to CPA or Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum 15 years in a similar role with experience within an international organisation preferred.
  • Experience in the Economic region is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in delivering commercial outcomes.
  • Professional services or project management industry experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
