Job Description

You will work with our Head of Financial Accounting & Capital Accountant, to analyze, collate and transfer accounting data from one legacy system onto a new finance system: Sun for implantation in upcoming year. This experience will be of great benefit for your CV and you will learn about our business along the way. Duties will include:

• Assist with the transition to Asset 4000 system.
• Ensure that opening balances of Asset 4000 reconcile to the 31 March 2022 (year-end) fixed asset registers.
• Support the Capital Accountant to ensure any in-year changes are fully processed in Asset 4000.
• Work with the Capital Accountant to ensure that Asset 4000 produces the correct reports for calculations and postings of additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Work with the Capital Accountant to ensure that Asset 4000 integrates with Sun (system) where practical.
• Ensure that at the end of the project Asset 4000 reconciles to Sun.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified OR part-qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Experience with Sun Accounting and/or Asset 4000 would be preferable or someone who is quick to pick up on new systems
• Knowledge and experience Capital / Fixed Asset accounting preferably within housing, not for profit or the public sector
• Available to start at short notice
