Job Description

Company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills to oversee the London-based accounting team and participate in our dynamic growth. This position will be focused on the day-to-day operations and tactical accounting responsibilities with an emphasis on timely completion to assist company executives with financial decision-making.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Provide oversight of the company’s general ledger and monthly close process, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, for entities in UK with operation across EMEA.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP & IFRS.
  • Prepare and review revenue calculation based on difference between accounting standards (ASC 606 vs. IFRS 15).
  • Complete and review account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete data analysis of company’s balance sheet and income statement.
  • Oversee accounts receivables, implementing and monitoring deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
  • Prepare monthly accounts receivables aging reports, providing analysis on balances outstanding and collection efforts.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes, as well as compliance with new accounting standards.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to CAA Brand Management’s accounting department.
  • Support the completion of financial statement audits.
  • Assist with the implementation of financial controls and processes.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field.
  • Qualified accountant, with strong analytics, a detail focused approach and broad technical comprehension including an understanding of UK and US GAAP.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified; ideally 6+ years post qualification experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Previous experience as an accounting supervisor or manager required.
  • Experience in leading an audit from start to finish would also be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization.
  • Previous experience utilizing financial management software packages: MS Dynamics AX preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
