Job Description

The success applicant will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the company, including Board requirements. You will work as a member of the senior finance leadership team to develop finance strategies, operational policies and procedures to ensure attainment of the defined Finance team strategic objectives.

The main responsibilities of the Interim Finance Director will be:

  • Act as a delegate for the Deputy CFO as required, including Senior Management Team and Board level interaction.
  • Provide Senior Finance level support to customers to which PRS acts as a key service provider.
  • Work as a member of the senior finance leadership team to develop and influence finance strategies, operational policies and procedures to ensure attainment of the defined Finance team strategic objectives.
  • Accountable for financial accounting and taxation input for all commercial and business decisions.
  • Support and advise Executive Leadership Team, and where required lead, delivery of key Strategic projects
  • Own the financial elements required to deliver on the financial strands of the 5-year plan, and proactively make recommendations to close gaps.
  • Accountable for ensuring there is an effective financial control environment and financial procedures
  • Implement effective and lean processes for the end-to-end billing-to-collection and procure-to-pay processes, payroll, pensions, fixed asset management and financial accounting implementing appropriate KPIs
  • Ensure company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Accountable for the annual external audit and maintaining a strong business relationship with external auditors
  • Overall accountability for companywide compliance with all VAT, Income Tax and PAYE requirements including returns and payments
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
  • Overall accountability for Billings & Collections, ensuring that strong relationships are built and KPIs are met both internally and where PRS is acting as a service provider.
  • Accountable for the production, circulation and presentation of the MPR suite of reports, and other routine management information, to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
  • Lead the development and tracking of meaningful financial and non-financial KPIs.
  • Delivery of accurate and timely annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts, aligned to the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Accountable for the Business Partnering team, whose role is to ensure delivery of key team objectives including business unit support, cost management and implementation of financial controls.
  • Accountable for ensuring PRS have adequate systems to track and report all management information, including owning Finance’s data and ensuring that Finance have the ability to access and analyze this data through the appropriate BI systems.
  • Accountable for financial management across the PRS portfolio, including investment appraisal, programme business cases and forecasting, and reporting of actuals for major programmes and projects.
  • Manage the financial relationship with strategic/joint venture partners, including reviews of business cases, budgets and forecasts, monthly performance reviews and key strategic programmes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A technically strong, professional, and qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years’ experience of senior finance roles in large and/or complex environments
  • Strong academic background
  • Experience of production of statutory accounts, tax compliance, FP&A and strategy essential.
  • Experience of delivering process and system improvements
  • Experience of delivering transformation in finance operations and culture
  • Experience of managing multiple teams through senior management
  • Immediately available or short notice period
