Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and internal reporting of financial information for the whole Steer group tp ensure accurate and timely reporting of information to internal stakeholders, and integrate new acquisitions from a management accounting perspective to create one Steer finance team.

You will lead a team of management accountants and the Finance Operations Manager (responsible for AP, AR and Credit Control) for the Central and Prestige regions, and be responsible for recruitment into this team to ensure adequate resource as the business continues to grow.

Your responsibilities will include, balance sheet reconciliations and first line review of management accounts for the Central and Prestige regions, business partnering with Regional Directors for the Central and Prestige regions in the interim until dedicated business partnering resource is in place and ensure accurate recording of all holding company transactions including liaising with external accountants on technical accounting matters such as acquisition accounting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Essentially, you will be an experienced Group Financial Controller with experience and exposure to multi-site accounting, have experience of managing remote teams, be a qualified accountant and have experience of working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Knowledge and experience of the automotive repair sector or other related industry (e.g. paint supply, parts supply, automotive insurance, and dealership), experience in a private equity backed organization and knowledge of NetSuite would be beneficial but not essential.
