Job Description
  • To consolidate the Group’s accounts on a monthly basis adhering to the strict monthly close timetable, including liaison with the management accounting team and others in the Finance department as necessary 
  • To consolidate the Group’s accounts, reporting internally (including to parent undertakings) and externally including liaison with external auditors
  • To prepare through to sign off the annual audited statutory accounts of the Group’s UK entities 
  • To monitor and advise the Group on the impact of relevant accounting and statute changes
  • To assist as necessary in production of the annual consolidated budget working with the FP&A team 
  • To play a role in the development of the Group’s accounting systems
  • Ad hoc assignments (e.g. Acquisition due diligence, board papers, review of controls and subsidiaries) support for the Head of Management Accounts and the International Controller as required)
  • Sox knowledge and experience of SOX compliance would be beneficial
  • Review Balance Sheet for our entities 
  • Premises exposure or knowledge of IFRS 16 
  • Multi-currency exposure / experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar); this role would ideally suit a recently qualified Accountant looking for their first move out of the profession, or a Financial Accountant trained in commerce & industry, looking for a progressive Consolidations role 
  • Detailed knowledge of International GAAP and US GAAP
  • Experience of consolidation, gained within an organization with group overseas operations 
  • Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting systems, including reporting packages 
  • Well-developed communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work accurately on a stand-alone basis
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant and with a hands on approach 
  • Attention to detail
  • Contributes well in cross-functional teams 
  • Self-organized, committed to meet business needs and timelines, able to work flexibly where required
  • Mature self-awareness, confident to liaise with senior colleagues at other group entities and outside own department as required 
  • Personal style to interact effectively with people at all levels in different countries and cultures
  • Proactive, contributing ideas to enhance all relevant systems and processes
