Job Description

This role also sits within the wider Operations Team and is a key business partnering role.

  • To provide effective analytical support to the Finance Manager for Airports
  • Providing insight on the key drivers for cost changes and supporting to close the gap where deviation occurs
  • Business Partnering
  • Provides a true Business Partner framework to Airports ensuring that the business owners are supported with the right insight and information at all times.
  • Strong business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider Finance team, Operations & Commercial teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts.
  • Provides financial support covering:
  • Budget and Outlook setting
  • Financial modelling
  • Development of initiatives and tracking delivery
  • Monthly reporting and analysis
  • Forecasting
  • Business case evaluation and decision support
  • Input into the 5yr Plan
  • Ad-hoc projects

Business Performance and Analytical support:

  • Providing monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs which can be used to drive business performance and improve the cost base
  • Responsibility for accurate monthly cost and cashflow forecasting
  • Driving confidence in numbers and providing insight into risks and opportunities
  • Driving continuous improvements in the operational and Finance processes
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of all Airport costs
  • Creates budget pack for Airports detailing variances by country for presentation to senior management and for the Airport Development team
  • Provides financial evaluation and cost modelling, and acts as decision support for ad-hoc projects, airport deals and cost saving initiatives
  • Works closely with the Airport Development team and highlights lean initiatives and potential opportunities, providing necessary support and understanding of costs to ensure they are managed effectively

Accounting & control:

  • Generates full month end reporting detailing variances to plan and tracking the effectiveness of cost saving initiatives
  • Responsible for the production of monthly reports for both Business and Finance stakeholders
  • People Leadership, Relationships and Influence
  • As a member of the Core Finance team, the Finance Analyst Airports has responsibility for
    • Maintaining effective cross functional relationships
    • Providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders
    • Mentoring junior members of the team

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS & FINANCIAL TARGETS

  • Month End insight and budget variance analysis completed on time and with accuracy and clear explanations of movements
  • Deliver key insight into performance of costs for network and ensure latest view is reflected in the rolling forecast
  • Support easyJet strategic cost saving projects to track benefits delivery
  • Support the development of a cost-conscious culture and supplier management within the Airport Development team

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK

  • This full time role will be based in Luton - Hybrid - 40 hours a week

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant able to embrace large complex fast-moving entities
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to demonstrate an excellent grasp of variance analysis and the key drivers
  • Ability to deliver the level of detail and insight required to support the Airport Development team
  • Able to communicate and challenge effectively with key stakeholders at all seniority levels in the organization
  • Able to demonstrate the commercial value of Finance projects
  • Ability to explain Finance to Non-Financial stakeholders
  • A proactive team player
  • An ability to work on own initiative, and has the confidence to offer solutions
  • A true self starter, with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Excellent excel skills (up to basic macros)
