Job Description

You will take responsibility for the budget and forecast cycles, implement continual improvements to processes and take ownership for the accurate reporting of the management accounts. You will also be leading and motivating a team of 3 part Qualified Accountants.
Responsibilities include:

• Lead, guide and develop the junior accountants within the finance team
• Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Analyze both risks and opportunities to optimize profitability
• Manage the preparation of the management accounts
• Ensure robust financial controls, challenging any overspends to budget
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the entire business
• Oversee the accounts payable and receivable function

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant who has managed a finance team in the retail industry. Experience in a SME business where you have worked as a number 2 to the Head of Finance is beneficial but not essential. You will thrive at driving change, implementing new processes and have experience streamlining processes to maximize profits. You must be comfortable working autonomously, confident challenging inaccuracies and prepared to question overspends.
