Job Description

You will partner closely and provide robust performance reporting and quality, value added insight to facilitate effective decision making to support new business opportunities. A key role partnering key Commercial Directors and the wider Senior Leadership Team.

This role is offering a hybrid contract, with 1-2 weekly visit into the Bicester HQ or regional offices, so you must be within in a commutable distance.

  • To provide support to the Senior Leadership team in understanding Independent and Manufacturing sales and margin trends.
  • This will require robust challenge of the daily, weekly and monthly reporting / KPI’s used by management to drive business performance
  • Support the Commercial Director in developing processes and tracking to better understand end to end cost prices
  • Support the Senior management team in understanding customer and product profitability
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities in sales and margin trends, ensuring that customer patterns, credit note trends, rebates etc are fully understood.
  • Develop the Independent customer sales and margin budget process.
  • Coordinate the forecasting and annual budgeting process for sales, monitoring performance against budgets on a monthly basis, taking corrective action where necessary
  • Ensure the risks of the category strategy are fully understood and mitigated where possible.
  • Assist in the work to improve the financial evaluation of new and existing customer opportunities
  • Introduce best practise, leveraging expertise from both Brakes or Sysco where appropriate

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You’ll be a qualified accountant with at least 3 years PQE (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and be able to drive performance through insight in a face paced commercial environment. Someone with strong business partnering skills across all levels with the confidence and ability to understand trends and results. This role will require you to flex to different audiences and build strong stakeholder relationships up to Director level so you must be comfortable with feedback and react with broad thinking. A great role for someone who has a history of adding value in a commercial environment and has the enthusiasm to strive for continuous improvement. We are looking for an individual who is highly numerate with strong data analytical skills who enjoys working towards tight deadlines whilst positively influencing the Senior Leadership Team.
