Job Description

Our client is a real estate asset & development specialist primarily focusing on town & city Centre investment & development. They have a number of joint venture partners as well as a major investment partner and will continue to invest significant sums into UK property. Due to substantial growth of the company there is a need for an experienced finance professional, a qualified accountant, to ensure the efficient running of the company finances.

The Main Responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all finance, accounting, debt financing, client reporting and financial data management
• Involvement in funding (equity and debt) and potentially creating new investment vehicles
• Overall responsibility for risk management, governance and compliance and reporting thereon
• Coordination and interface with numerous outsource providers
• Ensuring accuracy of fund accounts and postings
• Monitoring, maintenance and improvement of systems and controls
• Loan administration
• Responsibility for the management of the portfolio’s debt and bank relationships
• Responsibility for corporate financial reporting
• Overseeing VAT calculations and returns
• Overseeing cash control and payments & cash forecasting.
• Company Secretarial – filing annual returns, setting up new companies, maintaining records etc.
• Providing analytical review of monthly financial and business performance
• Coordinating the preparation of the annual budget and consolidation
• Coordinating the preparation of the periodic financial forecasts
• Responsibility for taxation matters, including tax planning and compliance

This is a very exciting opportunity for a real estate accountant. The client’s plans for the future are well thought through and the appointment of the new Head of Finance is crucial to the success of the implementation of those plans.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A qualified accountant with experience of working in either a fund, private equity or developer situation
• Comfortable working at a senior level and have a track record of investor reporting and corporate reporting
• Have a background in the real estate sector
• Either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Happy to work in a small but well established senior leadership team
