Job Description
You'll be integral in the preparation of the company’s year-end and half year accounts in compliance with relevant accounting standards, helping to ensure there is a smooth audit process and working to ensure there are adequate controls across the finance department. You'll also be involved in the collation of monthly financials to ensure timely and accurate information is reported across the business.
In this highly visible role, you'll be working with a number of teams across the business, including Regulation, Legal, and External Communications.
Key responsibilities:
- With the support of the Financial Reporting and Control Manager, lead the preparation of year-end and half year accounts for companies in the group, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and Companies Act requirements
- Assist in the preparation of corporate reporting in the annual report and half year report, ensuring compliance with relevant corporate reporting requirements
- Assist in the preparation of data for our regulators
- Be the main day to day contact for the external auditors, ensuring the auditors are provided with accurate and relevant information to ensure sign off of the annual and interim accounts within the required time scales
- Lead the collation and review of the monthly financials, including preparation of the monthly cash flow statement and review of the management information pack to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Lead the preparation of consolidated monthly financials for the group
- Prepare and review teams monthly and statutory journals as required
- Assist in the consolidation of the annual budget
- With the support of the Financial Reporting and Control Manager, lead the preparation of the Group annual report and consolidated accounts within specified timelines, and comply with relevant accounting standards (IFRS), Companies Act and corporate/regulatory reporting requirements
- Support and train one junior member of the Financial Reporting team, who will be your direct report
