Job Description

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are now looking for a Financial Controller to join the dedicated Finance Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of the Central Finance team
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial information including monthly board packs for presentation to senior leadership teams.
  • Ensure MIL results and all supporting documentation is prepared in accordance with our policies.
  • Preparation and coordination of the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycle. Production of reporting pack for submission to MD and FD.
  • Oversee preparation of the VAT, Corporation Tax returns, PSA reporting and associated returns such as reporting
  • Assist the Regional Finance Business Partner in continuous improvement of company processes by sharing best practice and maintaining strong relationships with counterparts.
  • Identify and drive system improvements.
  • Lead preparation of the company’s statutory accounts
  • Lead/support on ad-hoc projects/initiatives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills (Pivots, key formulas - vlookups, sumifs) and knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Construction Industry and Oracle would be advantageous
  • This is a varied roles that requires an adaptive and resilient skillset
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards and double entry
  • Enthusiastic and resourceful individual, comfortable working within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills gained in a fast-paced working environment
  • Good time management to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Ability to solve problems, to priorities and multi-task
  • Self-starter who can manage delivery of information from stakeholders
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA with at least a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
  • Self-motivated, robust and resourceful finance professional.
  • Ability to build and manage effective teams fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leader able to remain focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrable experience of business/process improvement
