Job Description
  • Assist the Investment Manager with regular and ad hoc portfolio reviews covering asset allocation, sector and stock selection as well as understanding the client’s investment objectives, risk profile, financial circumstances, and investment time horizon and how this impacts the suitability of the investment portfolio.
  • Develop an understanding about the suitability of our recommendations to clients and the transactions undertaken under a discretionary mandate. This will involve acquiring a detailed knowledge of Quilter Cheviot’s investment strategy and the research department’s prevailing stock recommendations.
  • Assist the Investment Manager in ensuring that all client relationships are properly documented, helping her prepare for client review meetings and any resulting updates to the Know Your Client data to ensure continuing suitability.
  • Assist the Investment Manager to complete client Suitability reviews and then upload these documents to our CRM database.
  • You will need to carry out investment administration tasks as a key element of this role and learn all administrative procedures to ensure you understand how to assist whenever required.
  • Prepare and provide clients and/or intermediaries with information and reports as required. This will involve taking and actioning phone calls and emails from clients and intermediaries.
  • Resolving queries from clients and intermediaries, including transfers of stock and cash, online access queries and payment requests.
  • Liaising with our Middle Office team to onboard new clients; organize the transfer of assets / cash to Quilter Cheviot and to make amendments to existing client accounts.
  • Assist the Investment Manager with ongoing portfolio management of her client base and carry out tasks such as: portfolio opening / closure; rectifying debit positions; raising monies for standing orders, fees, or client requests; corporate actions; quarterly reporting; CGT management; ISA renewals; aligning portfolios to Quilter Cheviot’s risk monitoring and responsible investment frameworks.
  • You will take responsibility for carrying out dealing transactions and the building of bulk deals and orders under the guidance and supervision of the Investment Manager.
  • Attend internal (and, where appropriate, external) investment meetings and participate as required in other aspects of Quilter Cheviot’s investment process.
  • Support the Investment Manager in seeking new business by working closely with our business development managers and marketing staff. This will include the preparation of presentations and the creation of investment proposals and pitch materials alongside occasional attendance at client meetings.
  • Ensure all duties and tasks are completed within all relevant rules, compliance regulations and in-house policies and procedures.

  • Full training towards the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification will be provided. The CISI Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) or CFA Investment Management Certificate (IMC) is required.
  • Experience within the private client investment industry is essential.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
