Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide high level strategic support and expertise to the Regional Finance Partner in relation to school budgets, as well as undertake direct line management within the finance team. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to provide ad-hoc support when needed by the Regional Finance Partner, and will oversee tasks including:

• Managing the delivery of the monthly management reports
• Overseeing transactional processing within the academies
• Preparing and monitoring budgets
• Liaising with school-based colleagues as required

The successful candidate will have a base for at least two days a week, and as a flexible employer, we are able to offer remote working for the remainder of the week. There will also be a need for regular visits to the schools within this region.

Hours: Ideally we are looking for a candidate to work 36 hours a week over 43 weeks a year (term time plus 4 weeks), however we would consider part time working arrangements, with a minimum of 30 hours a week over 43 weeks a year. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified Accountant or Part qualified with significant relevant experience
• Leadership and development of staff experience
• Experience of producing management accounts using financial systems
• Ideally experience of working within the education or charity sector
• Forecasting and Partnering with Budget Holders
• Experience of producing regular forecasts
