Job Description

The Interim Head of Funding Partnerships will lead the development and delivery of our partnership work. You will work with the Director of Children and Young People to ensure our partnership grant programmes are strategic, effective and reflect the core priorities and values of the charity.

You will ensure that we have strong relationships with our strategic partners who provide funding for us to deliver specific grant making programmes and you will ensure that these are delivered to the highest of standards.

You will engage all aspects of the charity to deliver maximum impact for children and young people, combining Content, Commercial, Ops and Finance in common purpose with grant makers and the Insight team.

Additionally, you will work with and consult Children in Need grant making staff to ensure effective four Nations delivery and build on and create relationships across the company and externally with relevant stakeholders and potential partners.

With the Director of Insight you will develop metrics and accessible representation of the impact and learning from the various funding lines and will share learning for programmes internally and externally and to collaborate with colleagues in Children in Need to establish and develop opportunities to influence systemic change.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The Interim Head of Funding Partnerships will take an informed and evidence based approach to new initiatives and will actively seek and identify areas particularly open to support and in line with our agreed priorities. The key requirements we are looking for:

  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational delivery
  • Experience of grant making at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience of leading project management in relation to funding programmes
  • Knowledge of social policy in relation to children and young people and disadvantage
  • Experience of leading a team at a senior level
  • Evidence of ability to communicate effectively across a range of platforms and audiences
  • Knowledge and experience of evaluation methods and their application
  • Ability to network and develop connections at all levels across the public and private sectors
  • Evidence of creativity and agility in response to the unexpected
  • Ability to work independently and to use initiative responsibly
  • Experience of consultation and effective participation with children and young people
